Dear Reader,
As you know, an earthquake of 7.0 magnitude struck the small country of Haiti in the caribbean, affecting Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, and surrounding areas, on January 12, 2010. About one-third of the country's people live in the capital city, and as you can image, their lives were changed forever on that day. It is important to keep the people in our thoughts so that the injured may recover, the missing will be found safely, and the dead rest in peace.
Haiti's recovery will be a work in progress. Haiti is smaller than the state of Maryland. If you think of it is this way, then you'll know that helping the country is feasible. I feel it is each individual's duty to help. Help the people and help the country by making a donation to a cause that will rebuild it:
[1] Donate money through: Yele Haiti, Unicef, and/or the American Red Cross.
You can also:
[2] Text "HAITI" to the number 90999 on your cell phone to make a $10 donation to the Red Cross,
[3] Text "SAVE" to 20222 to donate $10 to Save the Children, or
[4] Text “YELE” to 501501 to donate $5 to Yele Haiti’s Earthquake Relief efforts.
The Haitian people will appreciate every dollar invested towards their future.
